Care Services

SBcare provide a range of care services which are aimed at helping carers care longer, helping people to stay at home longer, to help people maintain independence in the community and to help people maintain their quality of life.

  • Are you faced with new situations, health problems or changes related to age or disability?

  • Are you new to caring for someone with ongoing needs or are needs becoming greater?

  • Navigating the possibilities of available help in the community can be daunting.

SBcare staff can help with the information that you need and / or refer you to the person or organisation best able to help.

These are suggested links to the relative community service sites for people to check their individual eligibility.

We have included printable hand outs in our brochures link on the left of the page.

HACC Program

The Home and Community Care Program aims to support frail, aged people and younger people with a disability who live in the community and their carers.
This support enables people to stay at home rather than go into residential care.
The needs of the carers are just as important as the needs of the one who needs care.
We provide the following HACC services:-

  • Home maintenance
  • Social support
  • Day respite care - centre based

Staff assisting clients

In Home Respite

Our staff will care for the person in their home whilst the carer has 'time off'.
The carer can have a sleep, go shopping, attend meetings, appointments etc.
Our staff aim to give the carer support which allows 'time off', knowing that the one they care for is safe and happy.

Home Maintenance / Helping Hand

Our staff would like to see you stay in your own home, but sometimes that means that you might need a bit of 'manpower' to handle the routine maintenance around your home.

Our staff can give help with home maintenance such as:

  • Mowing lawns (standard 1/4 acre block only)
  • Rubbish removal
  • Changing smoke alarm batteries
  • Changing light bulbs and fluoro tubes
  • Changing tap washers

We can also give you assistance with the installation of grab rails.
Our staff also provide free information about employing a tradesperson and obtaining other specialist help.

Carers Support

At SBcare we know that if you care for someone, it can become very demanding both physically and emotionally. Carers sometimes can become lonely and distressed.

SBcare services is designed to assist and support carers by 'Sharing the Caring'.

This is important when you need a break, so we encourage you to seek assistance before a crisis situation develops.

Carers can be assured that we will take good care of the one you love.
We aim to get to know them so that we can meet their needs.
